Tye Menser practices criminal defense and family law.

Tye graduated with honors from Harvard College in 1993 and graduated from law school at the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1997.  For three years Tye practiced commercial and intellectual property litigation in large firms in Chicago and Palo Alto, California.

In 2001, Tye followed his Muse to Arctic Alaska, joining the Alaska Public Defender Agency and representing Native Alaskans in the remote village of Kotzebue, and later Fairbanks.  In 2002, Tye was named felony supervisor for Northwest Alaska, supervising indigent criminal defense for 13 villages and an area larger than the state of Indiana.  During his 6 ½ years with the Alaska Public Defender Agency, Tye handled all aspects of adult criminal defense, juvenile delinquency, and dependency matters, and amassed trial victories in areas as diverse as DUI, drug possession, and sexual assault.

In 2007, Tye and his family relocated to Olympia and Tye joined Morgan Hill as an associate attorney.  In his limited spare time, Tye plays banjo and sings with a traditional bluegrass band, the Oly Mountain Boys, and an electric outlaw-country band, Rodeo Kill.  Check out what he’s up to at myspace.com/olymountainboys and myspace.com/tyemenser.
