It sounds like the title of a joke, doesn't it?  Actually, it's a pretty cool story about how America's most famous outlaw was sued by a farmer and a gutsy lawyer for the theft of a horse during a bank robbery.  After the James gang robbed the bank at Gallatin, Missouri, Jesse was thrown from his horse during the excitement of the getaway.  Jumping up behind his brother Frank, the two fled on one horse - untli they ran into a farmer riding into town in the opposite direction.  Jesse relieved the farmer of his mount at gunpoint and rode off, no doubt thinking the matter closed.  While most of us would probably just be happy at surviving a close encounter with a pistol-wagging Jesse James, this farmer seems to have been made of sterner stuff.  Hiring an attorney, he sued the outlaw for damages!
